This project took a deep dive into the car scene within London, specifically how diverse it is in terms of car variety, and people.
As the project was about car culture, I was able to use my videography and photography skills to get my own footage and photographs from various car meets in and around London.
Since there was a very large emphasis on typography during this module, I decided to use it to showcase the diversity of the car scene.

One way in which I was able to explore diversity through typography was through logo creation. I created a plethora of logos - taking inspiration from different areas of global car culture - such as Mid Night Club, Need For Speed, and Akira.
This project was widely influenced by '90s car culture - which is widely associated as the 'Golden era' of car culture - therefore the compositions were influenced by older car magazines to give the video a more authentic feel.

Another way in which this project was influenced by '90 car culture was through the 4:3 ratio and the VHS aesthetic. This went through many versions to get an authentic VHS styling - from looking into recreating CRT cells to adding VHS noise. The final video more resembled old camcorder footage rather than a CRT-styled overlay as it was more in line with the visual style of the '90s car scene.
